BIOGRAPHY
Gaspar Noé was born on December 27th, 1963 in Buenos Aires, in Argentina. He spends his childhood in his hometown and New-York. His father, Luis Felipe Noé, is a "really playful" painter and his mother, an "activist social worker".
He comes in Paris at 12. His first film, shot on a Super 8 camera gifted by his father at 16, shows his friend Juan Solanas diving in the Seine from the Pont Neuf. At 17, he studies cinema at Louis Lumière school. He graduates at 19 but doesn't want to work yet; therefore he goes to the Sorbonne where he studies philosophy. In 1985, he becomes argentinan director Fernando Solanas's assistant on El exilio de Gardel (Tangos) and shots his shortfilm Tintarella di Luna.
Besides being a filmmaker, Gaspar Noé is also a photographer.
