Merci David & Raphael

About : Gaspar Noé was first asked to direct three TV Spots. After an artistic disagreement and instructions judged racists by Gaspar Noé, he required that the two first spots should use the nickname Roberto Keller. He didn't direct the third one.

The INPES (French institute for health), in partnership with Ministry of Health, conceived a campaign based on condoms.

"These three films shows voluntarily three meeting places, bar, community party, and reception with friends. Shot in almost real conditions for the spots aimed at gays and migrants, these TV spots's purpose is to "re-alert" people on the risk of transmission, by highlighting the possible infection from potential partners. Shot in homosexual and african locations, with extras choosed on site, these films wants to feel real".

LeTempsDétruitTout.net was contacted by David and Raphael who both acted in the "Gay" spot, Raphaël being Benoit

Raphael :  “We both played with David in the spot shot in a bar (Le Keller), a commercial shot in one sequence-shot for the prevention campaign. There are three : the first being "straight", the second "homosexual" and the third one focused on Africa. Gaspar directed and shot the three of them [Actually Gaspar only made the two first one, the third one being made by a documentary from Martinique]. The commercial in which we where (gay-focused), necessited 90 takes! I am Benoit, the main character. It's a commercial commissionned by Ministry for Health. We can tell Gaspar is an awesome guy!  He's really funny and perfectionist. I talked to him as he directed and filmed. I was casted on a terrace in the Marais (gay district in Paris) so David and I went to the casting. The Gay spot was shot on June 21st (World Music Day) from 5pm to 4am. It was an awesome adventure, exhausting but Gaspar knows how to motivate people. The two spots I watched are good, not too cliché (from a gay perspective), it was his first commercial and I think that the message is clear. Noé is appealing. He told me that the 90 takes was new for him and that the following week he would shot the straight spot, and that he'd probably need at least 125 takes!

Thanks to David & Raphael
