The Académie des Lumières, which brings together the international press to reward the best French films of the year, has published the list of nominated films. Vortex has been selected in three categories:
Best Actress for Françoise Lebrun
Best Picture for Benoît Debie
Best mise-en-scène for Gaspar Noé
Let's not forget that in 2018, Climax was nominated in two categories (Best Director and Best Cinematography) but did not win any awards to the benefit of The Sisters Brothers. Benoit Debie, director of photography of the latter, had taken the opportunity to quote Gaspar Noé in his acceptance speech.
The ceremony will take place on January 16, 2023 and Vortex remains available on VOD, DVD and Blu-ray.
